My visit to Jamaica started in the best way possible, as a guest of British Airways, seated in Club World, flying from London Gatwick to Kingston!  On arrival our small group, hosted by the Jamaica Tourist Board, was whisked through the airport formalities to meet our transfer to Jamaica Inn.  Our journey up to Ocho Rios in the north of the island was a fascinating introduction to the country - from city, through mountains, to coast; three very different elements.

The beautiful island of Barbados is the gourmet capital of the Caribbean and one of its best loved restaurants is The Cliff; a see-and-be-seen destination in itself, where its guest list is a who's who of VIP's and celebrities and this stunning restaurant is equally famous for its awe-inspiring sea views as it is for its inspired and creative menu.

One of the most widely recognised treatments is Ayurveda, the ancient medical science that came from India and covers all aspects of healthy living. Its name translated from Sanskrit literally means 'the science of life' - based on the philosophy that we all have a duty to keep our bodies and mind healthy as well as beautiful, and with a range of hotels now taking up this science it's never been easier to try.

I love city breaks they are such a great way to pack lots into a short period of time and this autumn some of the finest in Europe look set to be spoilt for choice when it comes to the sheer volume of cultural events on offer, including masses of concerts and exhibitions planned that will keep even the most ardent culture vulture happy. So to give you a little food for thought I've compiled a smattering of suggestions for events to look out for over the next few months.

It's hard to believe but the hardest aspect of organising my recent wedding wasn't the wedding; it was deciding where to go on honeymoon. My other half isn't a huge fan of sun worshipping, I am - he prefers exploring, with a dash of history and a splash of adrenaline thrown in. Our honeymoon date of late August also meant that many exotic quintessential honeymoon destinations were either a washout or not at their best.
